I am a diehard Red Sox fan! Love my Bruins and Patriots, but am admittedly a bandwagon Celtics fan when they're in the playoffs. I am a fun loving, outgoing and opinionated Boston girl...OK, so I just could have said I'm a Boston Girl and the rest would have been understood. ;) {My beautiful daughter is EXACTLY like me...I'm in trouble!}

Who robs a child, let alone MY CHILD???

I received upsetting news last night from my 13 year old daughter; her father’s house was robbed and they took her laptop which she got last November for her birthday, some photos, and the most heartbreaking loss, her gold and silver dollar collection. Although there was a few hundred dollars in money taken, the real loss is the dedication she has put into this collection!

When she lost her first tooth in 1st grade, the Tooth Fairy {who was a bank teller at the time} thought it would be a cute idea to give the little toothless one a golden dollar.  {seriously, who wouldn’t want to wake up to gold under their pillow?}  Thus began the tradition of her father and I giving her a golden dollar for every tooth lost.  Oops…I mean…uuummm…the Tooth Fairy thought it would be a great tradition.  ;)

Her grandmother had given her a pretty wooden box, I think it may have been either a music box or a jewelry box, to store her new collection.  Friends and family know how responsible my daughter is and how she never spends her golden dollars, so they started giving her gold and silver dollars as presents for her birthday and Christmas or randomly when they happened to come across a gold or silver dollar. {a few times, the Easter Bunny even threw a few into her Easter basket…or so I’m told.}

My daughter is going into 8th grade this fall, so this collection has been an ongoing passion for the better part of 7 years.  {she is going to be 14 in November, so literally half her life} Like I said, it is not the cash value that is upsetting, it is the dedication to this collection which included a few rare coins as well, which makes me mad.

My daughter’s possessions were not the only things taken, her father’s girlfriend’s laptop was also taken.  {For all intents and purposes, she is my daughter’s step-mother.}  Unlike my horribly evil step-mother, my daughter’s if a wonderfully sweet lady.  The thing that sucks most about step-mother’s laptop being stolen is that she is taking online classes!  So, the thief is literally stealing her education!

It pisses me off when I hear about stories like this, but this time it’s my baby, and I’m beyond pissed about it!  My ex and his family are great people and don’t deserve this!  UGH!  Looks like my daughter’s gold and silver dollar collection starts over today.
